Plain-English rebate guidance
Toronto homeowners can get confused by subsidy rules, contractor requirements, permits, invoices, and photos. Our role is to explain the private plumbing next step and help organize documentation for the homeowner.
The City page currently describes an expanded program with up to $6,650 per property for eligible work completed on or after November 12, 2025. Check the official City page before applying because City rules control eligibility and payment.
Accueil plumbing assessment
80% of eligible cost, up to $500
Backwater valves and alarms
80% of eligible cost, up to $1,600 per device (maximum two devices)
Sump pump and alarm
80% of eligible cost, up to $2,250 (maximum one device)
Sump pump backup power
80% of eligible cost, up to $300
Foundation drain / weeping tile severance and capping
80% of eligible cost, up to $400
Important: BasementFlooding.ca is a private service company and is not the City of Toronto. Subsidy approval, eligibility, and payment are determined by the City of Toronto.
Common documents to prepare
- Paid itemized invoice from the contractor
- Photos of eligible installed work
- Permit and inspection records where required
- Accueil plumbing assessment records, where applicable
- Proof of property details and application forms
