Assess
We review the home’s visible plumbing, floor drains, sump area, backwater valve options and prior flooding concerns.

Rebate notice for Toronto homeowners
Licensed plumbing work, flood-protection upgrades and rebate-support documentation for homeowners who want a safer basement before heavy rain, sewer surcharge and power outages.
*Eligibility, subsidy approval and payment are determined by the City of Toronto. BasementFlooding.ca is private and not the City.
The campaign promise
Homeowners need the message quickly: every home is at risk, eligible protection work can reduce flood risk, and documentation matters when claiming subsidy funding.

Correct technical message
Flood water should be shown coming from the floor drain or sewer connection. The large sewer pipe is under the basement slab. A sump pump should have a dedicated discharge pipe that exits through the wall to outside — never connected to a toilet.
Funding & rebate support
Use funding language to create urgency while clearly stating that the City controls eligibility and approval. We help with the plumbing work and documents that homeowners need for their application.
