Understand what may be eligible.
For eligible work completed on or after November 12, 2025, the current program maximums include the items below. Each subsidy is up to 80 per cent of the invoiced eligible cost, subject to the stated maximum and program conditions.
- Home plumbing assessment: up to $500
- Backwater valves: up to $1,600 per device, maximum two
- Sump pump: up to $2,250 for one device
- Battery backup: additional maximum of $300
- Foundation-drain severance and capping: up to $400
Good records make the application easier to review.
The homeowner applies to the City. Required documents vary by the work, but commonly include itemized paid invoices, permits or inspections where required, the assessment form and installation photos.

Is the maximum guaranteed?
No. The City determines eligibility and issues subsidies first-come, first-served, subject to annual funding.
How long do homeowners have to apply?
For eligible expanded-program work, the City states that applications must be submitted within two years of installation.
